Domaine Besson Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru 2012

Chardonnay  |  France

Too late, we are SOLD OUT!
Congrats to Camille Besson -- the recipient of the GJPV Bourgogne Young Talent award in 2018, a huge honor to be recognized as the top young talent in all of Chablis! She leads the winemaking at this 4th generation family-run winery, and we are stoked to be one of the few places in the U.S. to even have this!

With holdings of just one-third of an acre in Les Clos, their crown jewel vines, which are mid-slope in the Clos and constitute just 5 rows, are something that the winery truly treasures. Under 1,000 bottles are produced every year so we are honored to have any at all to sell, especially at this price. There is no new oak here to hide the gorgeous minerality and concentration that only this vineyard can provide.

About the Producer

Domaine Besson has been a family affair since the very beginning. It all started in 1902 with Eugene Besson, a cooper by trade, planted a few vines for personal consumption and passed on the passion to his son Felix. Now in the fourth generation, Alain brought in his two children into the domaine. Camille works in the winery and in marketing of the wines. You'll find his son Adrian in the vineyards with his dog Lissa. The family owns 21 hectares and covers all four appellations of Chablis: Petit Chablis, Chablis, Chablis 1st Cru and Chablis Grand Cru. The make wine from two Grand Cru sites and three Premier Cru sites.
