Petra Cabernet Sauvignon Potenti Tuscany 2015 (Magnum 1.5L) - First Bottle

Reviews

94 Wine Spectator -
Aromas and flavors of black currant, cherry, cedar, iron and tobacco are corralled by the taut, dense structure in this red. Not flashy, but displays depth, while the long, vibrant finish allows the fruit to play an encore. Best from 2023 through 2043.
94 James Suckling -
Underbrush, bracken and other forest aromas spring from the glass, before being joined by fruitier notes of blackberries and mulberries, as well as some tobacco. Full body, ripe and chewy tannins and a grainy finish. Drink in 2020.

A stunning value at our price today, especially out of magnum! Petra does fantastic work of international varietals at their Tuscan paradise, and this Cab is no exception. This beauty should only get better in the cellar with a few more years on it and have legs to go another 20 years with ease, especially out of magnum. A double 94-point score and a price that won't last long...just 6 magnums are available...while they last!

About the Producer

When someone arrives at Petra for the first time, they are enchanted by the power of nature and by a light that has an uncommon depth at these latitudes. The estate is steeped in a very special ecosystem, which breathes and whispers, permeated by warmth and with an underground current which pervades the soil and reaches through the produce of the land – grapes, but a lot more too. Petra’s landscape and nature are unique: the green belt of the Colline Metallifere, near the Montioni Natural Park, with the Poggio Tre Cancelli Natural Reserve, up to the Sterpaia Coastal Park, looking over the Tyrrhenian Sea, a constant presence on the horizon, a single blue tone in a landscape otherwise dominated by two essential colors – green and russet. It starts in the vineyards, to appreciate the full power of the landscape, of the land, and of a careful and gentle approach to viticulture, and continues with a visit to the cellar. Here there is synergy between shapes (beams, blocks, columns and vaults), materials (elm, oak, Prun stone, flower embossed stainless steel) and natural light (the only source of lighting, carefully exploited by the architectural design).
