Pelassa Corte Enrichetta Langhe Rosso 2017 - First Bottle

Reviews

91 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate -
A blend of Barbera and Nebbiolo, the Pelassa 2017 Langhe Corte Enrichetta is a lovely wine with pretty inner poise and grace. The bouquet has a strong floral signature with violets, hints of wild rose and peach blossom too. The wine is compact and streamlined, but you shouldn't underestimate that long, silky finish. Corte Enrichetta is an elegant and tender wine to enjoy when you don't have a care in the world. This is a terrific bottle that makes me want to reach for a second glass (and a third). You can't beat this excellent value.

"You can't beat this excellent value." - 91 points, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate.

$17! Amazing. As most of you know by now, the string of fantastic vintages in Piedmont and the relative affordability of Barbaresco, Barolo, and ESPECIALLY the Langhe Rosso bottlings, make it the hottest region in the world right now for off-the-charts bang-for-buck. We have the PERFECT example of that today: a wonderful, warm, savory, light-on-its-feet, flavorful Nebbiolo (blended with Barbera) at a “drink everyday” price. BACK UP THE TRUCK!

A family run winery top to bottom since 1960, the vast majority of the wines are sold within Italy and the rest of Europe -- that’s why we’re so lucky, especially considering the Gambero Rosso award (the "Wine Spectator of Italy") for “Best wine for value” and “Two Glasses” (out of 3). Amazing praise for a delicious, pure, fine Langhe Rosso wine that is $17!!

We love the clean and pure cherry and raspberry flavors with super bright acidity. This is dangerously quaffable, and even more so served with a slight chill, next to a woodfire pizza oven, or poolside, or on the couch, or at a drive-in movie.

PAIRING IDEAS: So light, but so much flavor! Perfect for a killer charcuterie plate but if you’re feeling ambitious, make the classic Piemontese dish called “Vitello Tonnato” (thin sliced veal with tuna sauce) -- so good together!

MUSIC SUGGESTIONS: This is a ROCKING wine, it only makes sense to pair it with some good ol’ classic Beastie Boys - any song will do!
