Williams Selyem Zinfandel Papera Vineyard Russian River Valley 2019 - First Bottle

Reviews

94 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate -
Deep ruby-purple, the 2019 Zinfandel Papera Vineyard is pure and classic, with peach and wild berry fruit with accents of potpourri, spices and dusty earth. The full-bodied palate offers surprising depth of flavor and is expertly structured, with an anchoring, grainy texture and loads of refreshing uplift, and it finishes very long and layered with a flourish of spices. It's the stuff of Zinfandel dreams.

Too late, we are SOLD OUT!
I've always admired these wines for their uncanny ability to be wonderfully proportioned and balanced at almost any stage of evolution. Right when you pop the cork on this beauty it's ready to go with gorgeous zin-berry (is that a word?) baking spices and briary berries. There is a wonderful structure to back up loads of fruit and spice, this is expertly crafted and what every zin lover craves...this is an instant classic!

About the Producer

Williams Selyem was created by two adventurous and passionate individuals, Burt Williams and Ed Selyem. If a grower hadn't given Burt Williams a few tons of free grapes in the 1970's, Burt might never have discovered his love and flair for winemaking. If Burt and his partner Ed Selyem, had been able to afford the French Burgundies they both favored, they might have never tried to make their own Pinot Noir. What started off as a humble project called Hacienda de Rio (which changed to Williams Selyem in 1983) has grown into a cult-status winery of international acclaim. Together, they set a new standard for American made Pinot Noir and elevated Sonoma County's Russian River Valley to among the best wine growing regions in the world.
