I was blown away by the 2018 Bryn, only the second vintage I've been able to taste. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, it's a more plush, sexy wine, especially in the vintage, with full-bodied aromas and flavors of chocolaty dark fruits, tobacco leaf, earth, and spice. With a great mid-palate, building richness, and velvety tannins, it holds onto the pure, seamless style of the vintage. It's well worth seeking out and is going to cruise in cold cellars for 15+ years.

The 2018 Red Blend Bryn is composed of 77% Merlot (from Sugarloaf Mountain vineyard in south Napa) and 23% Cabernet Sauvignon (from Tench vineyard in Oakville). Deep garnet-purple colored, it comes barreling out of the glass with stewed plums and spearmint notes, followed by hints of cigars, dusty soil and bouquet garni. Full-bodied, the palate is chock-full of lively herb-laced rich black fruits, finishing on a lingering minty note. 395 cases were made.

PerUs is the Russell Bevan made project most people don’t know about -- until today! We’ve been privileged to be one of the very, VERY few to get ANY of these hyper-limited wines. If you bought any of the first couple vintages from us, you KNOW how insane these wines are.

PERUS is a collaboration of rockstar wine personalities, including winemaker Russell Bevan (he of countless 100-pointers from his eponymous label, Harbison and more), star sommeliers Dustin Wilson (Eleven Madison Park) and Eric Railsback (RN74, Les Marchands), several successful entrepreneurs, and a team of friends/designers to round it all out. And they found some pretty nice vineyards to do it all from - TENCH, next to Screaming Eagle, SUGARLOAF, both the sources of multiple 100-pointers and more recently, HOUYI on Pritchard Hill.

No expenses are spared on this project and it shows in the glass, with incredible concentration, polish and seamlessness from start to finish. If you are a lover of no-holds-barred cabernet, then you owe it to yourself to experience this beauty. Check out Jeb Dunnuck's review below.
