Reminding me of a great vintage of Chateau Pontet-Canet, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Armaan boasts a dense purple color as well as ample dark, black fruits, unsmoked tobacco, graphite, iron, and earth. Full-bodied, concentrated, and powerful on the palate, this beauty has a seamless texture, ripe yet building tannins, and one great finish. It's a thrill a minute and will evolve for 20 years or more.

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Armaan is a blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon coming from Tench and Houyi vineyards and 20% Cabernet Franc coming from Sugarloaf Mountain vineyard. Deep garnet-purple colored, it rocks up with open-knit scents of baked black cherries, mulberries and crème de cassis plus hints of mocha, tobacco leaf and tilled soil. Full-bodied, the palate is chock-full of rich, black fruits and loads of baking spice accents in the mouth, framed by plush tannins and lively acid, finishing long and savory. 100 cases were made.

We’ve been privileged to be one of the very, VERY few to get ANY of this hyper-limited wine. If you bought any of the '14 or '15 from us, you KNOW how insane this wine is. Jeb Dunnuck lost his cool when tasting this saying it reminds him of a great vintage of Pontet-Canet! It does have a mineral and gravelly, pencil shaving quality to it that does remind us of a great Pauillac. This is an exceptional wine sourced exclusively from the Tench vineyard next to Screaming Eagle. Jeb Dunnuck went on to describe this as, "Full-bodied, concentrated, and powerful on the palate, this beauty has a seamless texture, ripe yet building tannins, and one great finish. It's a thrill a minute and will evolve for 20 years or more."

About the Producer

Here's the scoop: PERUS is a collaboration of rockstar wine personalities, including winemaker Russell Bevan (he of countless 100-pointers from his eponymous label, Harbison and more), star sommeliers Dustin Wilson (Eleven Madison Park) and Eric Railsback (RN74, Les Marchands), several successful entrepreneurs, and a team of friends/designers to round it all out. And they found some pretty nice vineyards to do it all from - TENCH, next to Screaming Eagle, and the source of multiple 100-pointers, SUGARLOAF, and HOUYI on Pritchard Hill.
