Chateau de Vaudieu Chateauneuf du Pape L'Avenue 2015 (Magnum 1.5L) - First Bottle

Reviews

96 Wine Spectator -
Very silky in feel, with beguiling rooibos tea, bergamot and blood orange accents sitting atop the large core of cassis and raspberry pâte de fruit. Everything is in lockstep through the finish, where buried minerality adds the final touch. Best from 2020 through 2035. 328 cases made.
93-95 Vinous -
Lurid ruby. Ripe cherry and dark berries on the explosively perfumed nose, complicated by hints of smoky minerals, incense and potpourri. Palate-staining, spice-laced cherry and black raspberry flavors show impressive depth and clarity, and a spine of juicy acidity provides lift and focus. Finishes extremely long and sweet, delivering solid thrust, a hint of candied flowers and suave, harmonious tannins.
94 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate -
Another micro-production wine (less than 300 cases), the 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape l'Avenue is entirely Grenache from the lieu-dit Vaudieu, aged in demi-muids. Loaded with attractive notes of flowering garrigue and ripe cherries, it's full-bodied and creamy in texture on the palate, then glides to a long, spicy-peppery finish.
94 Jeb Dunnuck -
The 2015 Châteauneuf-du-Pape L'Avenue comes from another single parcel close to the estate and is 100% Grenache raised all in demi-muids. It has a juicy, fresh, lively style to go with notes of strawberries, mint, sappy green herbs and flowers. It has fine, polished tannin, full-bodied richness and the same weightless, elegant style present in all these wines.
