Domaine Claude Dugat Gevrey-Chambertin 2018 - First Bottle

Reviews

90-92 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate -
The 2018 Gevrey-Chambertin Village is a lovely wine in the making, wafting from the glass with aromas of cassis, dark berries, woodsmoke, rich soil tones and flowers, framed by a deft touch of new oak. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, velvety and enveloping, with fine tannins, succulent acids and a long, sapid finish.
89-91 Vinous -
The 2018 Gevrey-Chambertin Village has a very floral bouquet of pure red cherries and crushed strawberry fruit that blossoms in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fleshy tannins, a fine bead of acidity and a precise, elegant finish. A superb Gevrey Village.

Too late, we are SOLD OUT!
The Gevrey from Claude Dugat is no ordinary village wine. In the excellent 2018 vintage this is packed with concentration and minerality usually reserved for 1er or Grand Cru level wines. None of this however sacrafices energy and tension as the domaine has moved to picking slightly earlier and minimizing the use of new oak in addition to converting to organic and biodynamic farming principles starting in 2013.

About the Producer

Claude Dugat has long been a respected and beloved figure in Burgundy, while the wines of his eponymous domaine have captivated the world. Working alongside him for the better part of the last decade has been his son Bertrand and daughter Laetitia, to whom Claude turned over control of the estate with the 2015 vintage.
