Hacienda Solano Ribera del Duero Seleccion 2018 - First Bottle

Reviews

92 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate -
I also tasted the 2018 Selección, where the élevage was very respectful with the wine. They fermented in stainless steel, a small part with full clusters, followed by malolactic, and then part of the wine matured in used barrique, part in concrete and part was kept in stainless steel for 12 months. There is very good purity and freshness in the wine, a style with good tension and very fine tannins. The flavors are pure and very focused. 25,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in September 2019.

We love easy, beautifully-made, delicious Tempranillo for all-the-time drinking, especially in these winter months. It’s the kind of bottle you sip on while splashing it into the sauce, are we right?!

Hacienda Solano is a small family winery, located in La Aguilera, Burgos - a town that has some of the best and oldest vineyards in the DO Ribera del Duero. Toni Sarrión was invited to make his own wine in 2016 and has been directly involved in making the wines since then, along with Sophie Kunh and the rest of the Cubillo Solano family, and since has garnered quite a lot of attention. We are stoked to have scored a small parcel direct from Spain -- highly recommended!!
