Wittmann Riesling (Dry) Morstein GG 2019 - First Bottle

Reviews

100 James Suckling -
No. 6 Wine of 2020: Let go of the narrow human world and fall into this expansive dry riesling that busts out of the conventional framework for the grape variety. And that's what makes it so difficult to describe. However, there is certainly more yellow fruit (mirabelle, but also a hint of pineapple) than white (some ripe pear) and the minerality is huge, yet totally precise and delicate. The finish really doesn't want to stop! From biodynamically grown grapes with Respekt certification. Drink or hold.
(95-96)+ Robert Parker's Wine Advocate -
The 2019 Morstein Riesling GG is open and chalky on the intense, deep, elegant and refined lemon-scented nose. Lush and precise on the palate, this is a refined, enormously energetic and silky-textured dry Riesling with very fine tannins, great tension, finesse and stimulating salinity. Morstein fans shouldn't miss the 2019! Tasted as a sample in April 2020.

100 POINT GG! Not all GG's are created equally, and clearly Wittmann is on a level that few German producers have achieved. Voted James Suckling's No. 6 Wine of 2020 and worth the immense praise. About the Producer

As early as the year 1990, the Wittmann family had converted all of their vineyards to organic cultivation. In doing this, Wittmann became one of Germany's organic pioneers.
