Ronchi Barbaresco Ronchi 2015 (Magnum 1.5L) - First Bottle

Reviews

95 Vinous -
The 2015 Barbaresco Ronchi is fabulous. A rich, deep red, the 2015 impresses for its freshness and pure intensity. Readers should expect a resonant, structured Barbaresco endowed with tremendous fruit depth and plenty of tannic clout. The 2015 is rich, explosive and bursting at the seams with energy. Pine, mint, wild flowers, blood orange and sweet spice all add an attractive upper register. Dense and exotic, the 2015 is utterly beguiling from the very first taste. It is also the kind of wine that needs to be followed over the course of several hours. I loved it.

The Ronchi cru, where the family resides and grows their world class nebbiolo is flanked by incredible sites Moccagatta and Montestefano, and is ground zero for one of our favorite Barbarescos on the planet. These magnums are exceedingly rare and we were able to snatch up just a handful of these gems to offer. Antonio Galloni could hardly contain himself in his 95 point review. About the Producer

The Rocca family’s peerless Nebbiolo wines are still an insider’s secret, representing some of the better values in Barbaresco. This fourth generation vine-growing family lives, literally, in the ‘Ronchi’ vineyard - with older vines that wind around the family home and cellars. This petite valley, close to Neive, is charmed: bordered by cru ‘Montestefano’ to the north and ‘Moccagatta’ to the south, it is shaped like a perfect amphitheater, capturing the sun and giving Nebbiolo both the concentration and ripe elegance that is the hallmark of fine Barbaresco.
