Ernest Pinot Noir The Artist Upp Road Vineyard 2016 (Half Bottle 375mL) - First Bottle

Reviews

92 Vinous -
The 2016 Pinot Noir The Arist Upp Road Vineyard is one of the richer wines in this range. Succulent dark cherry, plum, lavender and rose petal all meld in a pliant, forward Pinot endowed with lovely juiciness. The 2016 is quite bold, but that is not an issue given a natural tendency toward a leaner style here.

Too late, we are SOLD OUT!
Love these little guys. WAY too convenient - this is SO good! We’ve offered several excellent wines from this producer (if you know, you know), and this is another beauty from the Sonoma Coast. Just a bit to go around...here are the deets from the winery: "Since we know you're wondering: Yes, there was a man named Ernest. He was an entrepreneur, a risk-taker and a role model for his grandson, Todd Gottula, who founded our winery with his wife, Erin Brooks, back in 2012. Planted in 2012, this 12-acre vineyard was developed for a select set of Dutton Ranch clients, including Ernest. The vineyard sits on a north-facing slope in the Green Valley of the Russian River Valley, and is planted to Swan, Calera, and 828 clones. We are excited to watch this property develop over the next 10 years." Winery Notes: Bright garnet in color with intoxicating aromas of red berries, cranberry, minerality, and hints of dry grass on warm hillsides. Intense, focused acidity on the palate with juicy summer strawberries and a nice balance of youthful tannins. 30 cases of splits to sell! While they last!

About the Producer

Since we know you're wondering: Yes, there was a man named Ernest. He was an entrepreneur, a risk-taker and a role model for his grandson, Todd Gottula, who founded our winery with his wife, Erin Brooks, back in 2012. Today, the "Ernest" in our name stands for more than one man. It's about integrity in the fruit we use and the people we know. It's about restraint, about how ego drives nothing we do.
