Domaine Baron`Arques Limoux 2010 - First Bottle

Reviews

92 James Suckling -
Aromas of ripe fruit with fresh herbs and green walnuts that follow through to a full body, round and velvety tannins and decadent fruit. Delicious finish. A fascinating wine now that has evolved beautifully. Drink now.
91 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate -
Looking at the 2010 Limoux, it’s a similar blend to the ’12 (51% Merlot, 23% Cabernet Franc, 6% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Syrah and 6% Malbec) and saw the same 12 months in 25% new French oak. Reminding me of a Washing State Bordeaux blend, this beauty gives up lots of sweet blackberry and black currant-like fruit intermixed with licorice, pencil shavings, toasted bread and spice. This all gives way to medium to full-bodied, ripe, nicely textured red that has a stacked mid-palate, high quality tannin and a great finish. It will have 10-12 years or more of longevity.

Too late, we are SOLD OUT!

Yes, the Rothschilds own this stunning estate in Limoux -- a 17th century Chateau 100km from the Mediterranean, planted to mostly Bordeaux varietals at elevations up to 1000 feet. Thanks to good connections in Bordeaux, we were offered this exclusive parcel DIRECT from the Chateau with perfect provenance and equally fantastic pricing. Don’t miss!

Our price is so good, you can eat it with pizza or pasta for sure, but personally a killer homemade, velvety, creamy highbrow mac & cheese (use aged cheddar with chive, or raclette, or put in some truffles, or bacon…). Sounds perfect to us!

Music suggestion: This is so round and velvety, probably best to cue up some Norah Jones..."Come Away With Me" is about right for this vibe!

This rich, fresh-pie-out-of-the-oven blend is SINGING, nearly at peak and delicious the moment it arrives. Gotta love those big bottles! While they last!

About the Producer

Baroness Philippine de Rothschild and her two sons, Philippe Sereys de Rothschild and Julien de Beaumarchais de Rothschild, acquired the estate and rename it Domaine de Baron'Arques in 1998. They embarked on a five-year project to renovate the vineyard and the winemaking facilities. Now it is the standard bearer of Limoux.
