*** EXCLUSIVE! *** We are the only retailer in the USA offering this rare cuvee, as a Bordeaux negociant we work with REALLY hooked us up. “Lucie 45” is a special, rarely-made “selection”, if you will, from some of the oldest vines in the vineyard (yes, 1945!). The Chateau considers the wine from this plot of gravelly soil TOO GOOD to use in the second wine, so it is bottled separately. Trust your wine merchant, you’ll be one of the very few in America to have any of this rarity!! Basically on the Rodeo Drive of Saint-Emilion, La Tour Figeac also is farmed organically and biodynamically since 1997! And we don’t have to tell you savvy collectors about the off-the-charts 2016, right?! One of the greats in many decades!! Famed oenologist Stephane Derenencourt consults at the estate and his wife, Christine Derenoncourt, is the director of Chateau La Tour Figeac. Until the late 1800s, Chateau La Tour Figeac was an important part of the massive, 200 hectare, St. Emilion estate, Chateau Figeac. For numerous reasons, Figeac divided and sold their land in multiple transactions in the late nineteenth century. And of course, as we noted, they have some well-known neighbors with Chateau Figeac to the south, Chateau Cheval to the east and to the north and west you find the Pomerol appellation just a few rows of vines away! This delicious cuvee is silky and rich like so many of the fantastic ‘16s. Deep flavors and tons of dark, ripe red fruit, with succulent texture, a bit of masculine grip on the end, very perfumey and savory stuff, with another level of complexity and subtlety. DRINK NOW or in 5-7 years! At this price?! C’mon!
