Georges Vernay Cote Rotie Blonde du Seigneur 2017
If you are one of the few hardcores who drinks Condrieu (it is nearly impossible to find, for a start) you KNOW Georges Vernay. He is a master and the driving force behind the appellations resurgence over the past decades. His followers buy with abandon every year for good reason. Many don't know that Christine Vernay, who took over for her father Georges in 1997, is making some incredibly exciting reds to rival the best in the region. We were incredibly lucky to purchase a TINY parcel of the rare Cote Rotie Blonde du Seigneur, sourced from two spectacular sites, Lancement and Côteaux de Semons. You MUST taste it to believe it.
We have a simply outrageous price, and we encourage ANYONE who loves Cote Rotie to lock up as much as you can. Wow. We all got our 6-pack!!
By all accounts, Christine Vernay’s style leans a bit more feminine than many neighbors, and in a fantastic vintage like this 2015, it’s simply gorgeous -- hugely aromatic, overtly floral, spicy and perfumed, concentrated, expressive and long. It will age for several decades, likely, but even now it exudes harmony and velvety texture. Packed with purple fruits, raspberry it's fresh and energetic and seamless. Delicious. THE PRICE! We still can’t believe it. Read the reviews below...and please don’t miss this uber-rarity at the best price anywhere by a long shot.
