Manincor Pinot Bianco Eichhorn Alto Adige 2018 - First Bottle

Reviews

94 James Suckling -
Steely and energetic pinot bianco with lots of sliced-apple and lime character. Medium body. Tangy acidity to the fruit at the finish. A beauty. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink now.
91 Vinous -
The 2017 Pinot Bianco Eichhorn is rich and still showing a bit of oak influence. Displays ripe yellow apple, wet stone, undergrowth, honeyed florals, and a hint of lemon curd. It’s silky and textural with an attractive inner sweetness, offset by zesty acids and salty minerals. Flavors of apricot, dried peaches, and lime zest resonate, along with a hint of butterscotch. The Eichhorn goes through spontaneous fermentation in oak barrels, followed by another four months resting on the lees. It’s a ripe, large-scaled yet truly seductive wine.

This is ELECTRIC!!!

We love this Pinot Bianco from the biodynamic slopes of this historic estate (400 years old!). This has all the pieces in place and offers gorgeous citrus and slate-y mineral notes. It is long and perfectly ripe and is utterly charming from start to finish, we arm-wrestled for the remnants after our tasting was complete. A stunner!

As James Suckling puts it, "Steely and energetic...Tangy acidity to the fruit...A beauty. - 94 points.

About the Producer

Manincor wines are naturally pure. The 400 year-old wine estate, carefully and prudently extended by the wine cellar built beneath the vines and hardly noticeable from above, epitomises today the tradition and aspirations of a superior wine culture. Count Michael Goess-Enzenberg on the estate's philosophy: "Long years of far-reaching development work are now bearing fruit. The prerequisites for producing these inimitable wines with strong personality are provided by the natural diversity of sites and soil compositions, vineyards entirely cultivated on bio-dynamic principles and an uncompromising determination."
