J.J. Prum Graacher Himmelreich Auslese Vertical 6 Pk 2009, 2010, and 2011 (6-750mL) - First Bottle

Reviews

95 Wine Spectator -
(2009) Vivid and pure-tasting, with a well-structured array of mineral, peach, citrus and savory spice notes that are tightly wound. Still, this is quite airy, especially on the impeccable finish of lime and nectarine. Best from 2015 through 2038.
94 Wine Spectator -
(2011) A savory and delicate style, with well-integrated passion fruit, apple compote and Key lime pie flavors. Zesty acidity and notes of chive and green herbs give this plenty of snap. Candied mango notes linger on the plush finish. Drink now through 2034.
93 Wine Spectator -
(2010) This white is very fresh and juicy, displaying focused apple pastry and pear tart flavors supported by mouthwatering acidity. Lemon curd and chamomile notes chime in, with a slate- and spice-accented finish. Drink now through 2038.

About the Producer

Since 1156 the Prums have called the village of Wehlen home. The Pr?m estate as we know it today began with Sebastian Alois Prum (1794-1871); his brother Jodocus constructed the Wehlener and Zeltinger sundials. Of his six sons only Mathias (1835-1890) married. In 1911 the estate was split amongst Mathias?s four sons and three daughters. It was when his oldest son, Joh. Jos. Prum, started the estate and his son who really propelled the estate into international stardom. It?s most important vineyard holdings are the Wehlener Sonnenuhr, Graacher Himmelreich, Zeltinger Sonnenuhr and Bernkasteler Badstube. Today, J.J. Prum stands as one of the most revered producers of Riesling in the world.
