Chateau de la Tour Clos Vougeot 2014 (Magnum 1.5L) - First Bottle

Reviews

93 Burghound -
A moderate application of wood frames the overtly floral and attractive fresh aromas of ripe dark cherry, cassis and soft earth hints. The sleek and delineated flavors possess a supple mid-palate though the youthfully austere finish tightens up quickly while evidencing a subtle trace of warmth. This moderately structured effort should be approachable after only 6 to 8 years but reward 12 to 15.

About the Producer

Clos Vougeot is surely one of the most famous Grand Cru vineyards of the Cote de Nuits as it is located right next to the Musigny and Romanee-Conti domains. This unmistakable winery is located in the middle of the vineyard and you can?t miss it as you drive by the famous vineyard. With almost 15 acres planted, it the largest parcel of Clos de Vougeot with some of oldest vines, over 100-years-old. Chateau de la Tour wines are the only Clos-Vougeot Grand Cru to be harvested, vinified, raised and bottled within the walls of Clos de Vougeot, just like in the old days of the monks.
