Mayacamas Cabernet Sauvignon 1999 - First Bottle

Reviews

94 Vinous -
One of the more bombastic wines in this lineup, the 1999 Cabernet Sauvignon races across the palate with a rush of pure fruit and structure. The late harvest produced a rich, viscous Cabernet Sauvignon endowed with tremendous depth and plenty of raw, visceral energy. Readers need to be patient here, as the 1999 needs more time in bottle. I imagine it will always remain exuberant in style. Antonio Galloni, Vinous (May 2014)

About the Producer

Grapes have grown continuously on the Mayacamas property since the late 19th century, at elevations of up to 2400 feet above the Valley floor. For almost 130 years, generations of vintners have worked the soils of the estate’s rugged mountaintop vineyards for tiny yields of intensely flavored mountain grapes. Now under new ownership with a superstar team of grower Phil Coturri and winemaker Andy Erickson, this historic property has ushered in a new era.
