Geantet Pansiot Gevrey Chambertin le Poissenot 1er Cru 2014 - First Bottle

Reviews

90 Burghound -
(from vines planted mostly in 1949). Moderate oak stops short of dominating the cool and restrained aromas of red and dark currant scents that are trimmed in notes of spice, underbrush and game. The detailed, intense and well-delineated medium weight flavors also exude plenty of minerality on the explosive if linear and quite youthfully austere finale. This is definitely going to need time to flesh out and add complexity.

About the Producer

The Geantet-Pansiot estate was founded in 1954 when Edmond Geantet married Bernadette Pansiot and the newlyweds started to make wine on 7 acres of vineyard spread mostly in Gevrey Chambertin. Since then the 2nd and 3rd generation are at the helm and they now own and farm 32 acres in Gevrey and Chambolle Musigny organically.
