92 Vinous -

The 2014 Godeau is quite a bit more compelling from bottle than it was from barrel. A powerful, intense wine, the 2014 exudes richness in its boldly sketched notes of dark cherry, plum, violet and lavender. Today, the wine is tightly wound, but it offers quite a bit of potential. There is a real feeling of density here. This is a terrific showing. The blend is 90 % Merlot and 10 % Cabernet Franc. -- Antonio Galloni in Vinous, FEB 2017

About the Producer
Godeau is ideally situated at the highest elevation in Saint Emilion, at the peak of the limestone plateau. With neighbors like Tertre Roteboeuf and La Mondotte, this is exceptional terroir with a steep sloping north to south exposure and an average vine age of 45 years. The Florisoone family purchased the property in 2012 and hired consultant Stephane Derenoncourt who has elevated their game.
