Lucie Pinot Noir Bacigalupi Vineyard Russian River Valley 2015 - First Bottle

Reviews

94 Wine Enthusiast -
Cranberry, rhubarb and allspice combine effortlessly in this well-made, memorable red. Silky on the palate, it shows a refinement of character and robust grasp of dark spicy notes that betray a baked, brooding quality of balanced richness. On the finish is a refreshing seasoning of orange zest.

About the Producer

On the sun and vine-dappled slopes of the Napa Valley, overlooking the town of St. Helena, Claus Janzen took a chance. Possessed with an unshakable desire to create something of his own, and to make an impression both immediate and lasting, he embarked to produce a signature wine he could be proud to put his name on. It was 1993 and Bacio Divino was formed as a Super Tuscan inspired red. Ever curious, he later ventured towards single varietals resulting in our namesake Janzen (2004), Vagabond (2004), and Lucie (2009). Claus hired the highly sought after consultant Kirk Venge to make his wines and began sourcing wines from the very best vineyards in addition to his small Estate vineyard and the rest is history.
