Domaine Albin Jacumin Chateauneuf du Pape A Aime 2015 - First Bottle

Reviews

93 Jeb Dunnuck -
The 2015 Chateauneuf-du-Pape A Aime is a more modern styled red that offers seriously good notes of caramelized red fruits (strawberries, raspberries), spice and licorice, hints of oak, medium to full-bodied richness and a great, seamless texture. Incredibly well balanced, with moderate, yet present tannin, it's going to impress for a decade. Like the 2016, this is a field blend incorporating 13 different varieties, from very old vines and tiny yields, aged all in very old barrels.
92 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate -
I had a slight preference for the overall purity and harmony of the regular bottling, but the 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape a Aime is still a fine effort. Floral and spice notes accent cherry fruit, there's ample weight and richness and the finish is long and silky. The only (minor) issue is a bit of heat on the palate and finish.

Too late, we are SOLD OUT!
We LOVE Jacumin, we have a ridiculous price, and the 2015s are stellar --- pure, unfiltered Chateauneuf goodness, packed with kirsch, dusty herbs, anise and a long, complex finish. 80+ year-old vines from their most prized block make up this top bottling. Just a hint of new oak present, so it's all about the pure fruit!

About the Producer

For over a century, the Albin Jacumin Domain has seen four generations of wine makers successively passing down their passion and pride from father to son. Their holdings are a patchwork of the entire appellation of Chateauneuf, allowing the winemaker to create incredible complexity and depth of flavor with multiple terroirs and vine ages.
