Heitz Cabernet Sauvignon Trailside Vineyard 2012 - First Bottle

Reviews

94 Wine Enthusiast -
From a certified-organic vineyard in Rutherford, this is a 100% varietal wine that impresses from start to finish, allowing room for a slight whiff of reduction and tar on the nose. Dark notions of coffee are interwoven between bright layers of cassis and red cherry around structured acidity and oak. Enjoy 2020–2028. Cellar Selection
93 James Suckling -
Subtle aromas of plums and cherries with hazelnuts and cedar follow through to a full body. Plenty of wood showing in the mid-palate with a flavorful finish. Needs two or three years to come together. A traditionally structured Napa cab with focus. Drink in 2021 and onwards.

Too late, we are SOLD OUT!
Prototypical Heitz, and that is a beautiful thing, especially at this way-less-than-Martha's price!! 94 points too! Cassis, cool blueberry, earth and subtle spice. SO good. Great vintage to boot!

About the Producer

Founded in 1961, Heitz Cellars is a true Napa Valley legend that has helped shape the history of Napa Valley. Pioneering vintner Joe Heitz ushered in Napa's modern era fifty-five years ago with his iconic, globally-celebrated wineries including Napa Valley's first vineyard-designated Cabernet Sauvignon, the renowned Martha's Vineyard. In 2018, the winery entered an exciting new chapter as the Heitz family passed this rich legacy into the hands of the Lawrence family, whose deep roots in agriculture and commitment to the same core values of fine winemaking made it a perfect match. Heitz Cellar will continue to craft wines in the quintessential Heitz style.
