Pierre Gimonnet Blanc de Blancs Oenophile Brut Nature 1er Cru 2012 - First Bottle

Reviews

93 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate -
The 2012 Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs 1er Cru Oenophile Non Dosé is showing very well, offering up a pure bouquet of citrus oil, wet stones and subtle hints of pan d'épices. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, deep and chalky, with an incisive spine of acidity that's nicely integrated, good depth and concentration at the core and a long, mineral finish. Disgorged in April 2018 without dosage, it's a steely Blanc de Blancs will appeal to more than just the purists.

Too late, we are SOLD OUT!
Old vines, great dirt, attention to detail, viticultural experience spanning multiple generations dating back to 1750. Gimmonet began estate bottling their Champagnes way back in 1935. We just loved the 2012 Oenophile and bought as much as we could. Just a couple cases remain of this gem from grower star, Gimmonet.

About the Producer

Chardonnay specialists in the Cote des Blancs in the small village of Cuis, Gimonnet has 69 acres of vines throughout the Cote des Blancs with only about 2% planted to Pinot Noir (from Ay). Two thirds of their holdings are vines over the age of 30 years, of which 40% are 40+ and a small percentage of 100+ year old vines in the grand cru village Cremant.
