Larmandier-Bernier Blanc de Blancs Terre de Vertus Brut Nature 1er Cru 2011 - First Bottle

Reviews

92 Vinous -
Larmandier-Bernier's 2011 Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs Terre de Vertus 1er Cru is as good a wine from this challenging vintage as readers are likely to find. Deep, powerful and vinous, the 2011 offers terrific persistence in all of its dimensions. Dried flowers, herbs and menthol are all nicely delineated. Next to the best wines in this lineup, the Terre de Vertus is a bit chunky and rough around the edges, but for the year it is very well done. Disgorged: December 2016 and bottled with no dosage.

About the Producer

Since the 19th century, the Larmandier family have been cultivating their vines in the premiers and grands crus of the Côte des Blancs. Chalk is the keystone of these great terroirs. Indeed, among the different production areas of the Champagne appellation, only the Montagne de Reims and the Côte des Blancs are situated on the Campanian chalk which is at the origin of the elegant mineral quality of Larmandier-Bernier Champagnes.
