Gaston Chiquet Brut Tradition 1er Cru NV - First Bottle

Reviews

91 Burghound -
A restrained nose speaks of brioche, green apple, pear and a hint of lemon rind. In much the same fashion as the Rose the supporting mousse is relatively soft though quite fine and is in keeping with the understated, cool and pure finish that offers excellent complexity on the agreeably dry but not austere finish where the yeast component is quite pronounced. This is lovely and to my taste is drinking perfectly now.

About the Producer

Gaston Chiquet, one of the founding Special Club member producers, has been cultivating grapes since 1749. Brothers Fernand and Gaston Chiquet were pioneers as they were one of the producers to decide to keep their grapes and make their own Champagne. Gaston separated from his brother in 1935 and the rest is history. Gaston Chiquet now controls more than 53 acres in Dizy, Ay, Mareuil-sur-Ay and Hautvillers.
