Tasted out of bottle, the 2021 Grenache is 80% Grenache, 15% Syrah, and 5% Mourvèdre that saw 60% stems and 21 months in 50% new demi-muids and the balance in used barrels. It has a slightly purer and more precise perfume of ripe blackberries, ground pepper, violets, and game. This carries to a full-bodied Grenache offering flawless overall balance, a pure, cool climate, vibrant mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and an incredible finish. It needs 2-3 years of bottle age and will evolve for 15+ years.

This Grenache showcases elegance and depth, opening with aromas of ripe raspberry, strawberry compote, and a hint of rose petal. The palate is vibrant and expressive, with flavors of red berries, white pepper, and subtle earthiness. Fine-grained tannins and a silky texture highlight its balance and finesse. A lingering finish of cranberry and sweet spice reflects meticulous craftsmanship.
About the Producer
Andremily was founded in 2012 by Jim Binns, whose passion for Rhone-style wines and commitment to excellence were honed during his tenure as a protégé of Manfred Krankl at the legendary Sine Qua Non. Inspired by the artistry and meticulous attention to detail he experienced there, Jim established Andremily with a vision to create small-lot, handcrafted wines that embody both distinction and a sense of place. The winery is based in Ventura, California, and sources grapes from some of the most exceptional vineyards in California's Central Coast, including the famed regions of Santa Barbara County and beyond.
Andremily specializes in Rhone varietals, such as Syrah, Grenache, and Mourvèdre, often blended with precision to achieve extraordinary balance and complexity. The wines are known for their richness, depth, and seamless integration of fruit, acidity, and structure, reflecting Jim’s commitment to low-intervention winemaking and his reverence for the unique terroirs he works with. Today, Andremily is celebrated for its cult status among wine enthusiasts, producing critically acclaimed wines that sell out quickly upon release. With an unwavering dedication to quality, Andremily continues to push the boundaries of what California Rhone-style wines can achieve.
